IELTS Academic Task 1: How to Describe a Pie Chart To describe a pie chart for Academic Task 1, learn and use the language for portions as well as the language for comparisons. Showing a range of vocabulary will help you to pick up points for lexical resource. If there is a pie chart and a table that do not correspond, you should write one paragraph about the pie chart, and one paragraph about the table. Avoid stating opinions, check the time frame on the pie chart and use appropriate tense, use passive constructions for extra points, focus on getting the appropriate data from the graph into your writing, and use a four-paragraph model.
