Hey there! The 3rd follow-up. Doesn’t it ring the bell? Vocabulary? you have a ton of words at your fingertips, but you are not all comfortable using them flexibly and readily, flexibly and readily being the operative words. Right? We're not supposed to say that for which we are not comfortable. Alright, now if you take a look at the band descriptors all over again, you guys might have noticed that it says you are expected, I mean a band-7 candidate is expected to throw in idioms, sayings, you know phrasal verbs and all that. Yes, if you are comfortable saying that why not? brush up on it. I'm sure you will sail through your exam with flying colors. it's really going to do the trick. One more thing I would like to say is to do with collocations, right? this is the fourth standard, the 4th criterion; awareness of collocations, right? So, I might not know the word for instance “make a shower, do a shower, take a shower, have a shower” and all that. It definitely has some bearing on your score. So, speaking of vocabulary we also mean collocations and awareness of collocations. So, idioms, proverbs and sayings, and also awareness of collocations. You gotta feel comfortable using the words, knowing that these two words go together; co-occurrence of words; “do a mistake” or “make a mistake” for instance? You definitely know it's “make a mistake”. That's what I mean by collocations.
