Hi guys Is it better to speak slow or is it better to speak fast? Well, I need to go over a few details before I get to answer the question. Well, this all falls under the criterion of fluency, accounting for a fourth of your overall speaking score. Fluency means: flow; Fluency means: smoothness; and fluency means: coherence. Flow is like you speak at length. You do probably anything to keep a constant flow of what you’re trying to say. How about smoothness? Long pauses, hesitations, silence, over self-corrections, are they Not gonna hurt your score? They definitely do. This has all to do with smoothness. Finally, it’s coherence. What is coherence? To make life less complicated than it actually is, I would say make what you say intelligible. So you keep a logical order to what you’re trying to say. I like to see a little bit of structure to what is going on, right? So let me pick up on what I said earlier. Speaking fast? Or slow? Probably neither of them. Try to keep a steady, even pace. Why? You speak too fast; chances are your words keep running into one another- right? Making it sound unintelligible to examiner, hurting sour score pretty bad. My suggestion is keep a steady, even pace.
